Real Racing 3 - Full Upgrade Stat. with R$ only (without Gold Upgrade)

Updated Date : Sep. 21, 2013

Hello Friends in Real Racing 3.
As the table is growing bigger with new cars, I opened Google Spread Sheet with the following Link.
For any spec. you want, please visit the document. It is for free.

Link to Google Doc : Real Racing 3 : Spec. of All Cars including upgrade

Also, thanks to the reward bug (or jackpot) at Time Trial Races,
I could get enough R$ to upgrade all cars I have.
Unfortunately, I cannot afford IAP of GC. So, GC car purchase and GC upgrade is limited.
In the end, the following data is missing, yet.
If you have any information, Please write a reply.

1. fully upgraded spec. without Gold spent.
2. fully upgraded spec. with Gold spent.
* initial spec. is not required. :)

Mysterious Car at RWD Open Revolution, Real Racing 3

There are three cars at the event but a mysterious car appeared shortly and disappeared soon. I was lucky to capture one.

Also this covered car was shown at other event as well.

Comparison of All Real Racing 3 Cars without upgrades

I made a comparison chart categorized by Class P, S, and R. But after some progress in the game, there are events that Class P and Class S cars competes. For example, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is class S but competes with Ford Shelby GT500 of class P. So, I just put all cars into one 2D chart.

<Chart configuration>

  • X,Y Value : normalized by median.
    • Speed, Grip : divided by median
    • Acceleration time, Break distance : median is divided by each number.
  • X-Axis : average of speed and acceleration time
    • better at outrun on straight tracks
  • Y-Axis : average of break distance and tire grip
    • better at keep speed at corners and not go slower than others.
  • Bubble size : the initial price of each car.
    • Gold cars are changed to R$ with real US$ currency.
  • Numbers on bubbles : Rank of average of X and Y value.

<How to Read this chart>
  • Generally, upper & right cars are better.
  • Imagine center line from No. 1 to No. 48. The cars on the line is balanced.
  • Cars at upper left side of the virtual line has strong break and firm tire grip. This means your cornering speed can be higher than competitors. So, your overtake position will be corners.
  • Cars at  lower right side of the virtual line has higher max. speed and strong acceleration. Both factors are good to outrun competing cars at straight track. In addition to this, strong acceleration is good for overtaking cars at start of a race.

BTW, there are Class S cars whose performance is similar to Class P Cars. They are Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe. Contrarily, Porsche 911 GT3 RS has Class S performance although it is classified Class P.

How to Win Gold Trophy in Real Racing 3 (Know How to Overtake)

Recently, whenever there is time, I take out my phone, and drive Real Racing 3. But, the thing is that I and You starts at the end of the cars, always. This means 10 seconds behind. Upgrading a car is a way but the others also does the same, so it is not the answer. In the end, it is your driving skill that matters.

So, I would like to share my know how. I am not telling you that mine is the best, but I just share my idea.

Part 1 : Settings
  1. Controls : Tilt B
Now you have 3 stage. 1)Acc, 2)Break, and 3) Nothing
Then you can step-by-step breaking before corner and do dotted acceleration at corner, which helps a lot when attacking corners.
  2. Minimize Driver Assists
    - I assume nobody uses steering assist. This is a driving game!
    - But it seems that some use brake assist at low level. Low brake assist is good for new comers, and at some corners its breaking point is better than my style. But it also reduce speed too much at certain corners which can go even without breaking. So, my recommendation is Off. This means you and I are to remember breaking points for every corners. What a study!
    - The final option is Traction Control. I preferred 'Off' at the early stage but nowadays it is 'On'. It seems that my driving is at the edge of the tire grip and without traction control, any car will get off the track or spin instantly. If you prefer 'draft' style, this should be 'Off.' But you will experience wear on tires a lot.
And, get accustomed these settings. Transition from Tilt A to Tilt B will take some time to get used. After this, it is time to think how to outrun or overtake cars in front of you.
  1. Choose a car with the best acceleration. (the smaller the better)
    - You can easily overtake to 10's position before the first corner, usually.
    - But be aware that the car usually has lower grip and not so fast maximum speed.
    - Example : Audi TT RS Coupe, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  2. Do not loose chicken game when attacking corners
    - TSM cars usually break a little bit early. (This will not hold for experts, after you have Gold Trophy, though)
    - You can see red lights On at the hip of front cars.
    - The car needs to have better break and grip for this.
  3. 10kph faster than others at corners.
    - TSM cars conservative at corners. you can attack corner 10kph faster than others.
    - Also, if you are inside, then you can use other cars to keep your car on track.
  4. Match a car and a track
    - There 1 to 4 cars at each track.
    - The left car is cheap but low performance overall. The right car is balanced and can be upgraded further than other cars. In the middle, cars have its characteristic such as max speed is the highest or acceleration time is the shortest.
    - Generally, a balanced car is good.
    - If the track has long straight road, the higher max speed is the better.
    - For drag race and elimination race, acceleration is the key to win.
    - Check my other posts regarding characteristics of cars.
  5. Driving on track boundary
    - Corners are the best place to overtake competing cars.
    - To overtake at corners, you need to choose between outside and inside.
    - Outside means longer way and inside cars will but you at exit of corners. So, inside is better.
    - But, The other cars insist TSM line and they block your way and even but your car.
    - So, the best way is to drive along the track boundary. 2 tires are on track, and the others are off track.
    - But, do not drive off track totally. Your car will be slowed down a lot and get damage.
  6. Do not but other cars and wall.
    - Your car will be damaged and performance will be degraded in the race. So, try not to hit other cars or not to be hit by other cars.
    - Also, you need to spend R$ to repair any damage after the race.
Using these style, I completed Pro/AM world series without any upgrade. But after I got many TSM friends from the game forum, I see many expert drivers who's cars are very hard to outrun even with fully upgrade with R$ (and no gold upgrade). The key is the combination of breaking timing and cornering line, which is a little bit hard to repeat and memorize. Only practice tells....

BTW, please register 'accuram' or 'Accuram' at Game Center. Let's race!
