Real Racing 3, Cars worth Investment

Real Racing 3 induces the upgrade using the R$. It does not mean drivers ability is upgraded but there are so many drivers do upgrade their cars fully. In order to compete them, you have no choice but to upgrade your cars.

To upgrade, R$ and Gold is needed. So, the price effectiveness needs to be checked.

The first check point is the number of events that the vehicle you have purchased can participate in. 1~4 cars are assigned at each event. There is no a super car that can master whole events and you need to upgrade every cars eventually. RR3 is designed for this. :(

But good thing is that there are some cars which can participate more events than others. The other cars which are not listed at the table below can join only 2 events.

However, the event is overlapped, there is an performance issue of cars. So, my choice or preference is  as below.

  1. Ford Shelby GT500 : cheap but powerful and balanced.
  2. Porsche 911 GT3 RS : The best car in Class P.
  3. Audi RS TT Coupe : cheap but superior acceleration
  4. Nissan GT-R Premium (R35) : what a rocket! it will but!
  5. Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe : Faster than Porsche 911 at 'Speedway' And it is Class S!
  6. BMW 1 Series Coupe : balanced...
  7. BMW Z4 M Coupe : balanced...
  8. McLaren MP4-12C : Easy to get with 50 gold
  9. Dodge Challenger R/T : no character.
  10. Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec : one of the least performance cars.
  11. McLaren F1 : too expensive for the performance
  12. BMW M3 GTS : Strong at high speed but weak at tire grip. Easy to Spin.

So, if possible, you can focus your upgrade at this cars for some time. But in the end, it is necessary to upgrade more cars to win more races. Question is, which one is worth investment. To identify one, you need to compare the relative performance of cars with maximum speed, acceleration time, braking distance, and tire grip force.

To show it in relative value, I used median value of each factors. Then, if the value is good when higher, it is divided by the median value, and if the value is good when lower, the median value is divided by the value. so the relative value is 1 if it is median and more than 1 if it is better than median car.

Among Class P, the below chart shows cars with at least one factor is over median.
Variation in the acceleration time is intense, the difference in speed also exist. Porsche 911 GT3 RS is excellent in general, Ford Shelby GT500 and M6 Coupe BMW follows. You can easily see that BMW M3 GTS has the almost lowest tire grip force while its max speed is the almost same with 911 GT3.

My favorite car is Audi TT RS Coupe. It has the No.1 acceleration force equivalent to the Porsche 911. It is advantageous in the track of climbing and drag racing. This acceleration force can let you overtake competing cars early in the game. Weak in grip can be covered by driving skill which TSM bots are not good usually. Lately added Camaro ZL1 is also good at Acc. and also has speed and grip.

For Class R, I selected cars which are better than median in at least two factors.

Large variation occurs at the grip force. The King is BMW M3 GT2 ALMS. It may say, "I attack corners without stepping on the brake." In comparison, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has the lowest grip force. What a shame! Except for the two cars, the variation in performance is the speed and acceleration. JR Motor Sports GT-R GT1 has strong acceleration force is. Ford GT FIA GT1 and Murcielago R-SV GT1 are focused on speed. The rest shows the good balance of performance.

Finally, Class S, namely the ranks of supercar. Similarly, only more than median cars are showed.

Class S cars are usually focused on Grip but Nissan GT-R Premium focuses on Acceleration. It is like a rocket. you can but any car in front. The other cars are balanced but for me, they are too powerful to control. They are like a wild horse. I have Gallardo LP560-4, Nissan GT-R, and McLaren MP4-12c but it is very hard to keep then on track. So, I decided to master Class P first.
